NO!

And so it begins... the litany of "no."

Putting on Colin's shorts this morning: "no!"
Closing the cabinet (which Colin wanted to play in): "no!"
Changing Colin's diaper: "NO!"
Taking the lotion (which Colin stole off the dresser) away from him: "no-no-NO"
Stopping Colin from hanging (literally) on the refrigerator: "No"
Offering Colin a spoonful of vegetables: "nooooooo"
Holding Colin in the desperate yet futile hope that he will fall asleep: "nooooOOOO!"

Our little guy certainly has an excellent grasp on this word, both pronunciation and meaning, I just wish he would try a little variety.  There's such a wonderful abundance of NOs that he is neglecting:

Russian: nyet
German: nein
Irish: ni hea
French: non
Welsh: na
Chinese: bu
Japanese: iye
Korean: aniyo
Sweedish: nej
Dutch: nee
Swahili: apana
Czech: ne
Basque: ez
Estonian: ei
Arabic: "la"
Sloppy American: nope
Mongolian: ugu
Polish: nie
Tongan: 'ikai
Zulu: cha

C'mon kiddo... if you're going to "NO" me to death at least be creative about it!
