Don't ask me

H is always working with Colin.  A few months back he taught our little guy object permanence: understanding that an object is still there, even when you can't see it because it is under a blanket/hand/pillow.  (No small task.  Colin's teacher said that some kids don't fully grasp that concept until they're over a year old.  Fifteen minutes with Dad and the Crack-berry and Colin had it down pat.)  Then he taught Colin to "woo-woo" like an Indian.  (The Native American kind, not the "Sharma" kind!  Bouncing his hand gently against his mouth while making a gentle "aaahhhh" sound.)  That one is a real charmer.  Colin also sometimes likes to help others "woo-woo" and will bounce his hand against the mouth of whoever is holding him, expecting them to "aaahhhh" and smiling when they do.

Most recently, super-dad taught our son how to wave bye-bye.  It is still mostly a forearm flop (with the occasional finger wag) but he's clearly doing it as a response to others waving to him.  At first he'd only do it for dad, then he added doing it for the teachers at school, and late last week he finally deigned to wave to his mother.  I was disproportionately excited, as only a goofy mom can be.

Wondering what tricks are in Colin's future?  Don't ask me... talk to his amazing father!
