Crazy Climber
Last night Ryan climbed 7 stairs, by himself, with no assistance. I hovered over him the whole way, but he did it all on his own. When he got to the landing he stopped, sat down facing me and Hari, and his whole face lit up as he gave a giant, beaming, open-mouthed smile.
He was so incredibly pleased with himself that he did the Ryan victory dance. He sat on his bottom, and using his feet he kick-kick-kicked as he spun around in a circle (his butt as the pivot, doing a quick 360º). Then he, of course, went to crawl head-first down the stairs. (Yes, I caught him before he tumbled.)
His father also caught him, just for a split second, actually standing without holding on to anything.
AND he will now "walk" if you hold his arms while he's standing.
I know we like to tease that Ryan takes his sweet old time when it comes to any sort of activity, but the little guy seems to have turned a corner and now that he's in motion he's EVERYWHERE! If he keeps going at this pace I think there's a good chance he could be walking before he's a year old. Yikes!
