And so it begins...

Over the weekend it happened: Colin discovered cartoons.  Specifically... and much to his father's horror... Spongebob Squarepants.  If the TV is on Colin will actually ask for us to turn on Spongebob.  "Ponge-baaa?"

And as a demonstration of what an amazing and loving father H is, he dutifully goes into our TiVo queue and finds an episode of Spongebob.  He sings the theme song, with gusto!  I even overheard him the other night, imitating Patrick Star (Spongebob's mentally challenged best friend).

You have to understand what this means.  H doesn't like animation in general, is not a big fan of cartoons, and the sound of Spongebob's annoying laughter normally makes his head explode into little bits.  But for Colin, he voluntarily watches the show.  He might even be enjoying it, just a teeny bit, because his little guy is clearly very happy watching a perennially happy and oblivious yellow sponge run around on the ocean floor, flipping crabby patties and catching jellyfish.

If that isn't true fatherly devotion I don't know what is!
