Good Doggy!

I have no doubt that Colin and Sydney are destined to be the best of friends.  Ever since we brought Colin home they've been quite a pair - inseparable really.  But sometimes they slap me in the face with it (in the best way possible, of course!) and I'm amazed anew.  Yesterday was just such an occasion.

After I fed Colin his dinner last night we were playing on the living room floor, and Syd came to join us.  I was petting her and Colin walked over, draped both his arms over her back and went in face first to give her a big, sloppy, little boy kiss on her flank.  Then he went back to playing.  Nothing crazy or fancy, he just had to show her she was (is) his special friend, then back to the important business of deciding which ball he was going to bounce-chase next.

Later in the evening after Colin and I had gone to bed (we've been under the weather) H noticed that Sydney was still downstairs with him.  Unusual because she typically follows me upstairs.  He also heard her growling, which usually means that our cat Seamus is tormenting her in some way.  Not this time.  Seamus was probably 5 feet away, but Sydney considered that too close.  Why?  H had taken Colin shoes and socks off and left them on the floor and Sydney had cuddled with one of her boy's socks.  She was making sure that our 10-pound feline bully knew without a doubt that it was her sock, from her boy.

What a pair they are!
