BOGO

Colin seems to have decided that if one is good, two are better.  Even numbers are the way to go.  This is regarding his teeth, of course.

From the start he's cut teeth in pairs.  First the two bottom center incisors, then a matching pair on top.  Then two more incisors on the right side (top and bottom).  Then he stopped for a while, apparently deciding that six was a good number.  At his last two doctor's appointments the pediatrician informed me that Colin's gums were swollen and he had more teeth coming in, and the kid gnaws on positively everything, but without any results.

Until now.

Recently I've literally been able to see two molars coming in, one on either side of his lower jaw.  The gums literally bulge out where the tooth is erupting.  And Colin continues to spend much of each day with his finger/hand jammed into his mouth, gnawing away.  (Last night I even gave him a cinnamon stick.  He loved it and was just thrilled to have something hard and tasty to chew on, but I had to take it away when he started trying to use it to draw on the walls.)  He's also been waking up howling in the wee hours of the morning, arching his back and miserable, clearly in discomfort.

Thank God for Hyland's Teething Tablets.  I can grab them from my nightstand, pop a few in Colin's mouth (he eats them like they're tasty candy!) and within a few minutes he's back asleep.  But still, the past week or so has been rough so I figured those teeth must be trying to come through.

Last night it happened - Colin had a new tooth!  A second lower incisor was peeking through his gums, so all four lower incisors have arrived.   WOW!  This was a little out of character, since the tooth didn't bring a buddy with it, but who cares?  New tooth!  New tooth!  New tooth!

But wait... apparently the BOGO (Buy One Get One) offer was still in place.  Because when I stuck my finger in Colin's mouth to poke around and check on the status of those two lower molars I found... one of his TOP molars was starting to poke through!

So now we're up to eight teeth (sticking with the even-numbers trend) with nine and ten on deck.  It seems my budding gastronome will be able to do some serious gnoshing in the near future!
