Vacation! (December 2013)

So... another archived post that I never published.  A quick recap of our vacation in December 2013.

In December we were fortunate enough to again enjoy a week of vacation in sunny Florida, but of course we're Sharmas so it couldn't be a trip without drama....

• Early AM flight
• driving to airport Hari spilled Starbucks refresher on pants
• on plane woman spilled Coke on Hari's pants
• Colin wouldn't sleep
• First Day
• Colin sleeping through breakfast
• Hari spilled mimosa on his pants
• annual vacation trip to urgent care - Colin had double ear infection
• 12/31/13 - Colin swam independently for the first time, with help from Carolyn (Hari was golfing)
• 01/01/14 - Ryan nearly drowned 
• Colin: I'm peeing poopies (thank you antibiotics!)
• This is THE VOICE!
• solo walk with Colin to the butterfly garden
• three bald eagles
• trip to the beach, saw a dolphin
• two large alligators in the pond
• saw the movie Walking with Dinosaurs (awesome!)
• Ryan started getting sick and was starting to wheeze, and his stupid mother realized I had forgotten to bring the nebulizer.
• Hari (of course) was sick by end of trip
• Winter storm Hercules - over 17,000 flight cancellations
• Flight out (Sunday) was canceled, our "rescheduled" departure was 5 days later
• Hari couldn't get through via phone or internet, went to airport and stood in line for hours
• We had to rent a van and drive 3 hours to Tampa to catch a flight on Monday
• The new flight was delayed another 2 hours, so I took the boys to a play area within the terminal (THANK YOU AIRPORT GODS!) and after a little more than 12 hours we finally made it home.
