Sharma Karma

Rehash from 2 years ago...

On nights when Hari is home as I'm putting the boys to bed, he joins us and lays down next to Colin.  This is both a blessing and a curse.  I love that he is getting some time with the boys, but I also know that there will be a giant delay in getting the kids to sleep.  They chat, catching up on their days, talking about toys or books, counting (originally this was just plain counting, now they practice going by 2s), and sometimes they're actually playing.

During this time Ryan will be cuddled up in my left arm, usually ignoring the whole thing... although there are times when he tried to get in on the nonsense.

The other night things went down a little different.

Hari was home, and after reading a few stories we realized Colin hadn't made his last pit-stop of the night, so Hari asked him to go.  Colin resisted (we're still dealing with the "monster" issue) and eventually Hari somewhat begrudgingly went with him.  Colin was tired, and was being too slow, so Hari started rushing him. Colin eventually came to bed, and Hari stayed behind in the bathroom, and the next thing I know I hear the shower running.

Apparently Hari went to grab a towel (we keep them stacked on a stand over the toilet).  Hari was impatient with Colin because the whole ordeal was taking too long.  He rushed Colin through the "going potty" process and then ushered him out the door.  Hari then felt an "urge" and went to go to potty himself.  Apparently in his hurry Colin didn't remember to close the toilet, leaving both the lid and seat up.  Hari wasn't aware and when he went to sit down instead he SPLASHED down, straight into the pee-pee water.  (Colin didn't flush either.)

After his splash-down Hari headed straight for the shower.  By the time he came out (and explained to me what happened) I was laughing hysterically and he admitted that if he hadn't been impatient with Colin none of it would have happened.

Sharma potty karma.
